EDLD 5315: Assessing Digital Learning and Instruction
This course focused on evaluating the impact of digital tools on student learning, with an emphasis on purposeful integration of technology in the classroom. Through action research, literature review, and instructional planning, I explored how platforms like IXL can enhance literacy development in 2nd grade while supporting student engagement and growth.

Enhancing 2nd Grade Literacy with IXL
In this action research project for EDLD 5315: Assessing Digital Learning and Instruction, I examined how IXL can support foundational literacy skills in 2nd grade. Using a mixed-methods approach, this study focuses on the impact of targeted IXL skill practice on student engagement, vocabulary development, phonics, and reading comprehension. This work highlights my commitment to integrating digital tools in meaningful, developmentally appropriate ways to enhance student learning.

The Impact of IXL on Second-Grade Students’ Foundational Literacy Skills
This literature review examines the use of artificial intelligence to support literacy development in 2nd grade classrooms. It highlights how AI tools, when implemented thoughtfully, can enhance vocabulary, phonics, and reading comprehension without replacing student thinking or teacher guidance. Key themes include developmentally appropriate integration, the teacher’s role in guiding digital learning, and equitable access to technology in early elementary settings.

In this action research project, I investigated how implementing targeted classroom strategies can support self-regulation and improve academic engagement in early elementary students. Through structured goal-setting, consistent feedback, and student-centered reflection, I worked to create a classroom environment that fosters self-awareness and responsible behavior. This plan not only aligns with my vision for inclusive and supportive teaching but also serves as a roadmap for continuous improvement in meeting students' social, emotional, and academic needs.

Collaboration and Community
In EDLD 5315, I engaged in meaningful peer collaboration primarily through GroupMe discussions. By sharing resources, asking questions, and offering support, I strengthened my understanding of the course content and developed as a more reflective, independent learner. These interactions also helped me improve my APA formatting and academic writing through peer feedback and shared experiences.
